Xiaomi Mi 11 Review: Potential To Be The Best Smartphone On The Market?
For nearly a decade the smartphone market was dominated by giant companies such as Samsung and Apple. And although the two companies are still occupying the first and second places, they are now threatened by the Chinese company, Xiaomi. The third-largest smartphone seller worldwide, Xiaomi, launched their new Xiaomi Mi 11 Smartphone at Xiaomi’s Global Mega Launch event on March 29.
The good thing about this new smartphone is that it has the potential to be the best smartphone on the market right now. The specs don’t lie about this, as if you look at them it seems clear that Xiaomi Mi 11 can crush any other phone. The smartphone offers users some of the most powerful cameras and a dual-display design that is unprecedented. And while people still have to wait for it to be released until the end of April, the wait will be worth it.
What is New With Mi 11?
The smartphone doesn’t shy away from new features that the previous versions didn’t possess. If you compare the older version of Mi 10 to Xiaomi Mi 11 then the difference is as clear as the sky. Not the same could be said for Samsung’s Galaxy S21 for example, which is clearly a downgrade from the S20 version.
One of the obvious differences is noticeable right from the start, namely the display. With a resolution of 2.5k, Mi 11 has surpassed the 2k resolutions of Samsung Galaxy S21 and Mi 10, but the enhancements don’t end with the display. The most notable enhancements are the screen HDR modes, automatic video resolution, and framerate upscaling. It also has new and various brightness and reading modes. It also has the new Harman Kardon tuned loudspeakers which are an improvement over its predecessors. The processor is way faster than the Mi 10 one and the battery charges very quickly.
When it comes purely to design, the smartphone doesn’t take your breath away with its complicated design, it looks quite simple, but rest assured that Mi 11 is built to resist and has a solid design. It has a classical Xiaomi design, with the usual glass sandwich blueprint. The design flourished with the addition of a camera bump that features three layers that are stepping up to the primary lens.
The screen is only 6.8 inches and might prove quite challenging for people that do not like smaller smartphones. Although it is only 8.1mm thick and weighing only 196 grams it still feels svelte. With these features, Mi 11 is smaller than the previous Mi 10. The only downgrade from the Mi 10 is probably the smaller battery, 4600mAh, but the difference won’t be very noticeable.
The processor is the newest from the Qualcomm series, Snapdragon 888. Unlike the 2020 year Snapdragon 865, the 888 a 5G modem integrated directly into the SoC and thus saving power and space. You can acquire the smartphone with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or for more expensive models 12GB and 256GB.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Box
Rumors were heard that the new Mi 11 will be the first company’s smartphone that will be boxed without a charger. The users pressure was immense and it seems that Xiaomi plans have been abandoned, unlike the rival company’s Samsung. In the Asian market, the phone can be found within the new thin box without a charger. But rest assured that if you need a charger you can request one with your Mi 11 order and a 55W GaN adapter will be sent to you for free.
The rest of the world will get the adapter inside the retail box by default. Alongside the 55W charger and the smartphone of course, the box also contains a 6A-rated USB-C-to-A cable. Users will also receive a transparent silicone case.
The last retail item is a USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter that helps you connect your wired headphones. The transparent case is a Pixel fabric one, and it almost looks like a premium version. Although the case is an imitation and it’s made entirely of plastic it is still looking great and doesn’t feel cheap at all.
