ELEPHONE E10 Smartphone Review
The new ELEPHONE E10 Smartphone came to life at the beginning of April 2020. ELEPHONE E10 axes to the budget segment, being a relatively cheap smartphone.
The design reminds me of the Huawei P40 Pro, especially the back part, but the front panel with the water-drop camera notch is definitely a 2019 design. Anyway, for a smartphone under $150 is perfectly acceptable.
ELEPHONE E10 as an overall look doesn’t feel cheap, on the contrary, it feels in hand like a well-made smartphone.
Some main features of ELEPHONE E10 are that it incorporates a four-camera system, it has an octa-core chipset, with 4 GB of RAM and expandable storage space, NFC, Android 10 and other great stuff.
But don’t rush ahead too much. Let’s see in detail what lies within this budget smartphone.
Design
ELEPHONE E10 is mainly built from plastic with a metal frame, it looks nice and feels solid in hand. It has a little overweight, and it is a bit larger in hand but, this isn’t a big deal
The gradient colors of the back look great. The shiny plastic is definitely a fingerprint magnet, but the protective case that comes out of the box can be a help.
ELEPHONE E10 is available in two colors, the gradient blue-green and black.
On the back, you immediately notice a quad-camera frame, that as I mentioned before it looks like the Huawei P40’s camera case. Other than that, there is no comparison between those two phones. The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro play in a whole different league.
The quad-camera setup looks promising but will see later what these cameras are capable of.
Going down, there is no fingerprint reader on the back, it is positioned at the right side of the phone, under the volume rocker and plays the role of the power button too. The fingerprint reader is quite accurate, nonetheless it has a 2-3-second delay.
On the other side, you will encounter the SIM tray capable of housing two SIM cards, and a micro SD card, up to 256 GB. Expandability is a big plus for this phone because it initially comes with 64 GB of internal storage space.
At the bottom, you have an USB C port and a down facing speaker, which has only average sounding. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, and neither an adapter in the box.
On the upper side, you have the microphone, and the front panel fills in a 6.5-inch IPS LCD.
Display
The display itself has 1560 x 720 pixels, HD+ resolution with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, and 264 PPI pixel density.
The screen to body ratio is 90.3% which is relatively good in this price range.
The bezels are small on both sides, only at the bottom, you can notice a wider black chin.
The front panel is only interrupted by the water-drop notch on the upper side for the selfie camera.
This display has excellent color reproduction, a little over saturated, and it is visible in all angles. The brightness level is a bit on the downside. It is difficult to use under bright sunlight.
Performance
ELEPHONE E10 comes with a Helio P22 processor from MediaTek. The chipset runs on eight cores, going up to almost 2 GHz.
This unit is enhanced by an IMG GE8320 graphic processor that works on 600 MHz.
Games are working surprisingly well on this phone. Of course not on the highest graphics, but on low-mid settings, it can work flawlessly.
ELEPHONE E10 was not designed for gaming, but for a budget phone, behaves wonderfully. In everyday tasks, you won’t have any problem with fluency.
The 4 GB of RAM and the 64 GB internal storage combo points out to a basic setup. But this setup runs efficiently, this phone, no worries, and storage expandability is just a plus.
Camera
ELEPHONE E10 as we saw before has a quad-camera setup on the back and a selfie camera in the front panel hidden in a water-drop notch design.
The main camera has 48 MP and 1.2 inches wide. With this larger image sensor, you can capture more light, thus your pictures will be more detailed.
The 13 MP ultra-wide sensor has a 120-degree angle. It is the usual panorama photo shooter.
For bokeh effects, and blurring backgrounds, there is a 2 MP depth sensor. With the help of this unit, you will take those perfectly highlighted portraits.
The last 5 MP macro lens is obviously for close-up macro photos. It does its job well, but sometimes the focus is poor.
The front-facing camera has a 13 MP lens and can take decent selfies with a significant amount of detail.
Unfortunately, only the main camera can record videos, along with the selfie camera. The video quality is 1080p at 30 frames per second.
Overall, ELEPHONE E10 takes decent photos regarding its price range.
Battery and Features
ELEPHONE E10 has a 4,000 mAh battery, which is more than enough for approximately 2 days of usage time.
Fast charging is a lack of this phone. Powering up, it takes about 3 hours, which is a lot.
Luckily the Helio P22 chipset doesn’t consume too much power, and the IPS display is also a battery saver.
ELEPHONE E10 runs on Android 10, with its own user interface. The checkered icons are not so nice, but luckily with a launcher, you can change that.
One of the most remarkable features of the ELEPHONE E10 is the presence of NFC. At least for me it was a complete surprise, a pleasant surprise. In this price range, you don’t come across this very often.
Conclusion
At only $120, I’m sure you won’t get any better phone on the market.
ELEPHONE E10 is a great budget phone with excellent features.
In this price range with the ELEPHONE E10, you get great value for your money.
You get a quad-camera setup that makes decent photos, a powerful battery, a reliable performance score, NFC, and great design.
If I hit your interest, you can pick it up at Gearbest, Banggood, or AliExpress at a reasonable price.
